Brian King

I’m a passionate technician and long time award winning member of Technorama, with a genuine love for community radio and everything audio/ visual.

This is my 38th continuous year as a volunteer at my local station.

I have served on the board of PVFM on 3 occasions, and hold the role of Technical Co Ordinator at that station, and hold Life membership.

I also am the head contract engineer for Radio 3ZZZ, and in the past have helped, and still help a number other stations around Victoria.

I hold formal qualifications in electrical and electronics, and this has led me over the years to be contracted to build studios and transmitter sites not only for community stations, but also commercial radio.

I did for a number of years engineer football outside broadcasts for both 3AW and SEN, and have engineered hundreds of Outside Broadcasts for community radio stations (including live CRN events). I have also taught the CMTO pathways OB course and Technical for Non Technical for some stations.

When not playing radio, these days, I can be seen occasionally playing piano / keyboards in tribute shows as a Musical Director. Playing live music has always been my other passion
