TR16 Housing and Hotels

Where can you stay?

This link takes you to Google Maps for the area.  Google Maps shows all hotels, some of which don’t have accommodation – that’s the cocktail icon.  Room pricing on Google Maps is for whenever you load the map, not the TR Accom2conference dates.

The TR16 committee has arranged group rates at two hotels,  and we have some additional recommendations.    The most important thing to do is book now, and hunt around a little when you do.  The negotiated rates are good and guaranteed, but you might do better on the web with a bit of checking.  You might also do better by calling a property directly.   We’d love to do this for you, but at these rates we don’t have the capacity to run a gig and a hotel service.

Negotiated hotels

We have negotiated availability with the two properties which are closest to the Campbelltown RSL, and which are still walkable from both the RSL and the railway station..

Rydges Campbelltown Sydney

For a limited time, Rydges Campbelltown Sydney Hotel has a special “free night Weekend Escape” offer, which applies during the Technorama event. Follow this link to see if rooms are still available at the special rate, maybe still around $117/night for two nights.   You will need to sign up for (or already be a member of) Rydge’s Priority Guest Rewards program, and you can do that at no charge online.  PGR members get additional discounts and benefits which might be useful during your stay, so it’s worth doing.

If the Escape rate is no longer available, rooms at Rydges Campbelltown Sydney are available at the Technorama rate of $189/night which includes hot buffet breakfast in the OTIS Grill.   To get this rate, quote Corporate ID code PC190296.  Depending on which page you have reached, click where it says “do you have a promotion code” or look for “More booking options” to enter the code.

The Technorama rate at Rydges applies to bookings made on or before 19 June (earlybird deadline).  After that, normal rates apply but the code may attract additional benefits.

Note:  there is  a “Rydges Camperdown” hotel.  It’s not the one you want, and take care to not confuse the similar names or book the wrong place.

Maclin Lodge

The Maclin Lodge Motel has offered a discount rate through their online booking system, including a hot breakfast (bacon, eggs, cereal, toast, juice, tea and coffee) for an additional $15 per person.

When you book (use this link), enter code TR16 in the “Promotional Code” box to flag the reservation, and  in the “special instructions” box note down the number of $15 breakfasts you will require.

The Web

Aggregator websites such as Trivago will give you an idea of what’s available in the area, and rates might be higher or lower than our negotiated rates.  The advantage of using the negotiated rate is that those rates will be held for us, whereas the web might be higher or lower depending on when you check.

If you are driving to TR16, the ibis budget Campbelltown has been seen at $65/night.  Note that the ibis, and the Quest are NOT within easy walking distance of the RSL.

All hotels in the area have no-charge parking, and the RSL has no-charge parking for delegates.
